Dierdre Friel

Acting Faculty

As a teaching professional, she has had the opportunity to work with children and adults of all ages. Working with prestigious programs like: the Rutgers Theater Conservatory, Disney Theatrical, and is currently on staff at New York University, both as an adjunct voice and speech teacher, as well as a resident music specialist. She has directed & musically directed more shows than she can accurately count, including several world premier productions. She has been conducting, arranging, and writing music for choirs for over twenty years and has helped to create and build several theater programs, both within the U.S. and internationally.

As an actress, Dierdre is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the Actors’ Equity Association (AEA). Dierdre has performed on Broadway, in films, on television, and has a passion for spreading arts education whenever possible. In 2004, she was nominated by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets for Outstanding Female Debut for her one-woman show. Dierdre has studied and performed at Shakespeare's Globe Theater in London and graduated from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts (cum laude) with her B.F.A. in Acting.
